Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, John began to love history at an early age. While most boys in middle school were reading comic books, John was reading huge volumes of books on World War II.

Although he began his writing career at an older age, John has continued to feed  his hunger for history by  visiting museums and talking with World War II veterans across the country.
